The stall doors for the horse run shelter should be of the swinging or sliding variety, and a minimum of 4 feet in width. Moreover, the space between the stalls, called alleyways should be no less than 10 feet in width. This is to ensure that there is sufficient space for the horses to move around and to be free while in the stable.

The flooring is another important aspect of the stable. It should be made of concrete and have a roughened non slip surface. This is not only safer for your horses, but it also helps in providing easy maintenance of the horse run in shelter.
